Wild Animal Crunch!!

The ladies over at Mom Central asked if I would like to take part in the blog tour for the new cereal Wild Animal Crunch, from Kellogg's. If it is food that I think my child will eat, I will help them out, so I said "sure"!

Reason being? I typically have a hard time getting Hannah to eat, but when she sees something new in the house, or in the grocery store, and it catches her eye? She wants to try it. If it has anything to do with animals, even better.

Wild Animal Crunch cereal is a vanilla-chocolate flavored whole grain cereal with a cute box cover. It has animals on it! And it caught Hannah's attention right away. However, the first thing that grabbed my attention about this cereal was the nutritional value. There are 14 grams of whole grain in every serving!

Yes really, it's a kids cereal high in fiber, low in fat, and low in calories. It doesn't get any better than that. And it tastes great. We loved it in our house!

And one more thing, Kellogg's has a partnership with The Animal Planet. They created the idea behind this cereal together. Thanks again Mom Central!

Photo Hunter- Different

Today's theme is "Different" and I think what I have to show you is different because:

1. We have Peacocks as domesticated pets
2. The third picture is an albino which is kinda rare

This picture is not very good but it is really hard to get a picture when they are showing off. You have to be fast.

And yes this is a Peacock too.

I did not take this last picture, but I wanted to show you anyway.

Hopefully one day my peacock pictured right above this picture will look like this one.

Going GREEN!!!

Finally! I have found a cleaner that I don't have to leave the room right after I spray it! I don't know if anyone else is like me but when I clean my bathroom, I would spray the cleaner and then leave the room for a few minutes to let the smell settle before I could go back in and clean. If I didn't I would not be able to breath. For some unknown reason certain cleaners would just make me choke. From now on I'm using Clorox Green Works. More Yummy Food...

I think I'm still a kid at heart when it comes to some foods, especially Pop Tarts. They remind me of when I was a kid, my Mom would buy them and I would pop them in the toaster before going to school or I would grab them as I was running out the door to catch the bus.

Then I grew up and didn't buy them anymore. Until I had Hannah.

Hannah and I would be grocery shopping and she would see them in the cereal aisle and ask for them. I decided to give them a try one day and bought them, knowing that as a kid I loved Pop Tarts. Sometimes she'd even ask for them for dinner, and I would give them to her because getting her to eat at times was just a struggle. I knew she'd eat Pop Tarts, so why not?

My only problem with regular Pop Tarts was that they were high in sugar, and I always thought how nice it would be to have an option that was more healthy. Hannah eventually stopped eating Pop Tarts as often, and so I stopped buying them.

Recently I've re-introduced Hannah to Pop Tarts and that's because I was lucky enough to try them out with an offer from M0m Central. I was worried that they would not be as tasty, or that Hannah would take one look at them and decide they weren't for her (they aren't covered completely covered with icing anymore, it's drizzled on instead), but that didn't seem to bother her on bit. She wanted one as soon as I pulled them out of the package. And she sat and ate the whole thing! I guess I have found another great product that my child will eat, and as a bonus it's healthy for her.

Check for them the next time you are cruising the cereal aisle at your grocery store. The new Kellogg's® Whole Grain Pop-Tarts® in Strawberry are very good, taste pretty much like the regular Pop Tarts and are even good for the kid still in me. Because you know I had to try them for myself.

"MORNING STRESS!" I know there are some mornings that I have to get up and get going when I don't take the time to give Hannah or myself a nutritious breakfast. It is almost impossible.

I'm helping the ladies over at Mom Central with their Yoplait Kids blog tour in hopes to spread the word about some good tasting yogurt. First Day of School!!

Last night was the night finally for Hannah and I to go to see Nemo On Ice. And I have to say it was pretty cool. I took a few pictures (296!) and I'm not to happy with the way they turned out. That's why I took sooooo many; I wanted to make sure that I had at least some that came out half way decent.

So here we go.....

Just had to throw this picture in there although it's not a very good picture. When you bought a program or a bag of cotton candy you got this hat. Oh and see those two other people in the picture (to the right)?? They went with us as well.

And then you have Dory. There is just something about Ellen that makes her so funny.

And yes Mickey, Minnie, Goofey and Donald Duck were there too.

All in all the show was very nice and the kids (including mine) enjoyed the show. If anyone gets the chance to go I would recommend that you do. Be prepared to spend some money though.

This is new to me. SJ tagged me with a meme so I will try it.I was tagged before but didn't do it because I had only been blogging for a couple of months. With that said here we go.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BLOGGING? Well I guess I have been blogging for about 2 months but I have been reading for over a year.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START A BLOG & WHO ARE YOUR MENTORS? I would have to say SJ and BS inspired me start a blog. And my mentors would be the ones that I read.

ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE MONEY ON-LINE OR JUST DOING IT FOR FUN? No I am not trying to make money doing this at all. I'm doing it to keep in touch with family and as well with hopes to make new friends along the way.

WHAT THREE (3) THINGS DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING ONLINE? I have too much time on my hands during the day (I'm on the computer all day, everyday). I love reading all the blogs I have found so far, and I love the fact that I can keep family updated on my daughter, even though I haven't put many pictures of her on here (I will though, I promise).

Bill Was In Town.....

This morning I was reading the newspaper (online) and read that Bill Clinton was going to be at UMW (University of Mary Washington). Since I don't live that far from there, and since my husband Gary works there, I thought what the heck! I'll go and see if I can catch a glimpse of him.

I got on the phone and called Gary to see if he thought I could park at his jobsite, and if so, would I have a better advantage to actually see Bill Clinton, and he said YES!!! And so I was off. On my way though I stopped and picked up some lunch for Gary.

When I got there, he jumped in the car and sat with Hannah so he could eat his lunch, and I took off and went for a walk. This is what is was able to get from a far....

I would have had a better shot if the guy beside me wouldn't have hit my arm. He was doing the same thing I was of course - trying to get a picture. The only difference was that he didn't have a flip-screen on his camera like I did so that he could hold the camera above his head and still see what he was taking a picture of.

It's kind of funny that I had the opportunity to do this today because yesterday BS called me and said "Guess who I got a phone call from today??"

I said "Who??"

And she said "BILL CLINTON!!"

Photo Hunters - Narrow

Today's theme is Narrow and I think everything about this place is Narrow. When I went to Colorado about 10 years ago, SJ and her hubby were nice enough to take me to Bishop's Castle and MAN!!! was it WONDERFUL to see!! When I went back to Colorado in August of 2007, this was one of the 'must do' things that I had on my list.

This castle is a work in progress and has been built by one man, and one man only. And when we were there I was lucky enough to get his autograph. I know he's not a famous person but he should be. If you ever go to Colorado it would be well worth the trip to visit this piece of art, and make sure you take time to look at everything that Jim Bishop has built with his own hands.

UNBELIEVABLE!!

Can you believe that one man has made every bit of this? Pretty cool huh!

These are the windows on the side of the castle by the NARROW steps. He also has some stained glass windows in the front of the castle that have little verses on them or In Memory of, or just names of people that have made donations.

It's a neat place. That's for sure.

I Was Let Down

Today I was let down just a little bit. Hannah and I were sitting here at the house and looked out the window and to our surprise, it was SNOWING.....

And within 10 minutes, that's right I said 10 minutes, it was GONE. I'm glad I got a picture of it however, this might be all that we get this year people.

Now I know other parts of the US are getting a lot of snow. And I know that they are so tired of it by now that they just want it to go away. Is it too much to ask for just one good snow so I can take the little one out to play? The only place she has seen snow is in Colorado. And I just wish that that wasn't the only place.

I Can't Believe It...

Thursday I was headed to BS's house and thought I would go up Rt. 1 for a change of scenery. I usually take 95 because it is much faster. So I was headed up Rt. 1 and I crossed the Rappahannock River minding my own business and I saw a bird fly down into the road going after some roadkill. My first thought was that it was a buzzard. But as I took a better look, I almost wrecked my car because I was actually watching this kind of bird come down into the roadway to pick up dinner. And then it flew away.

Now I know a few of you are probably thinking that Bald Eagles don't eat roadkill; they eat fish, but I was only 2 cars back from where this bird landed in the road and when it started to fly away it came right beside my car. I got a good look, and I still cannot believe my eyes.

I wish I would have had my camera to try to take a picture but instead I reached for my cell phone to use it and that is when I was startled back to reality as the car in the center lane was blowing its horn at me. The first person I called was SJ. She can tell you how excited I was.

A Helping Hand

Yesterday was a day to help others. I received a phone call from my big sis and she was in need for sure. When she called I was on the phone with our brother so I called her back . She sounded like she was in trouble (like something was wrong). First thing that came to mind was that she might have been in a car accident because her voice just didn't sound right. So she proceeded to tell me that she didn't feel good and that she had a little bit of a problem and wanted to know what to do.

In short, this is what happened.

When she told me the details, all I could picture was her ceiling falling down on top of everything she had in her basement. But once I was there and saw it for myself I realized that it wasn't that bad. Thank GOD.

After we finished moving stuff and had put down plastic, we went out to eat. And we pigged out. It was very good and I don't remember or not if I told her THANKS!! so I will take the time now to say thanks for dinner last night.

And also while I am saying thanks, I know that he is reading and so I wanted to take the time to say THANKS!! to him and his wife for the Christmas gifts they gave us as well.

I ordered some tickets yesterday because I want to go see Disney On Ice. I know this show has been out for a while now but Hannah was too young to understand when she was younger. So now she is going to see Finding Nemo.

I hope she doesn't get upset because I didn't ask her if she wanted to go but I called to order tickets and the next thing I know I had 5 tickets for less than $100.00! And that was with shipping and all that mess (I guess I'm special like that).

I just wanted to take the time to say THANKS to everyone that wished me a Happy Birthday. I know I'm a little late. Didn't do much other than take myself out to eat. I treated myself to Red Lobster and it was pretty good.
Hannah had a pretty good Christmas and is enjoying everything she received. She just cant make up her mind on what she wants to play with .
I also would like to say Happy New Year to everyone and hope you had a safe night last night and a have safe 2008.

It Was My Birthday

Busy Busy Day

First of all I would like to thank everyone for stopping by to say Hello. I feel the love already .

Yesterday was a long day and I didn't even go Christmas shopping.(Not really) I was out to finish my shopping and my neighbor called me to see if I was anywhere near Best Buys and it just so happen that I was right there . She asked me if I could go buy a Wii game for her. The nice neighbor that I am I said sure I can do it so I did. That is going to be one happy girl this Christmas because she is getting just what she asked Santa for. So needless to say I didn't get anything for stockings.

Then I was asked to go to a middle school today to watch Trevor's wrestling match. I have never been to one so I said sure I will go so Hannah and I went. Trevor didn't win but he was happy that someone other than his mom and dad showed up. By the time that was over it was time to move on.

This picture is not Trevor but I thought I would just show you what it was like.
I guess Hannah thought she needed to lay on the floor to watch everything.

On Thursday nights I bowl so from the school we went bowling. I will have to say I didn't do half bad tonight. Better than last week that's for sure.Just to let you know I bowled a 210,157and a 202 so that is pretty good for me.

Seeing Santa

Girls Day Out

And is this close or what. We sat on the floor to the right of the stage. I think it was pretty cool to sit that close but it wasnt very good for pictures.
